As we all know the newest game on the market is Borderlands 2. This open world game is the sequel to the hit Borderlands (obviously). Holding a huge fan base for its wide spread comedy and in depth story this game has held up on all ends as the greater part of the first game. Now lets get down to business. First off we will discuss the campaign. Again the story is nothing to scoff at. It fits perfectly with the previous game in a way that makes it seem you were never gone from Pandora. They made sure to piece it together by adding characters from the previous game rather than making the player feel out of place by adding in new characters and starting from another point in a time, place or even story. Adding new enemies was a feature that also kept things fresh while keeping old ones such as psychos just as homey feeling as going back a couple of years.
Secondly, the matchmaking or multi-player. Again in this game it is mostly a co-op campaign setting rather than the over played team on team combat being covered by the Battlefield or Call of Duty franchises. While this does get old replaying missions that you have already done, it is up to the host to pick up the ball to keep the new missions rolling. With the wealth of missions available it will be hard to ever complete them all. So while you have the slight chance doing a quick redo there is a 95% chance you will be playing a new mission. A new feature added in is the ability to auto-save to your account. While this was featured in the first game it was not perfected by any means. This creates a seamless transition to your game from a online match. Another feature is the fact that the more people in a game the more valuable and available loot becomes. That means more money, guns, shields and grenade mods for the masses. Not to mention if ammo or money is pick up it is distributed to everyone... undivided.
Finally, the cons of the game. There are little to no complaints with the operation of the game. One problem i have found is that on rare occasion as you try to revive a teammate, it will kill that person. So instead of saving their life you become the harbinger of their death. Along with minor combat issues such as enemy lag of inoperative grenades there are no real sensible problems. I hope that these minor issues will be solved with updates to make the game run seamless.
On my final scale i give this game a 4.5 out of 5. It is a wonderful game for anyone who is into gore, crude humor, or weapons... plenty of weapons... 1.5 million weapons. If you are on the fence i recommend you buy it, it is well worth it.
